Creamware with overglaze enamel painted decoration. The cup has no bottom and so could be a holder for something? Mounted on a square plinth base, impressed "WOOD & CALDWELL". Height 21cm. This figure can also be found in a bronze glaze and is sometimes described as a figure of Putti seated on a tree stump, one arm raised to hold a spear, on a rectangular base.
